One out of every six aluminum can is made using BP Cherry Point's calcinide coke making the 225,000 bpd the largest supplier to the aluminum industry.
In BP Cherry Point, Calciner Unit bearings and calciner coke temperatures are being monitored by Emerson Smart Wireless installation to prevent fan and conveyor failure and can prevent production losses.
Commercial technology manager for BP, Mark Howard said that wireless technology is very important vehicle for getting instrumentation into places where wired devices wouldn't be practical.
